Abubakar Aliyu Dan Mafara
Director Health Planning Research and Statistics, Abubakar Danmafara Aliyu was born in the historical and ancient town of Dandinmahe Shagari Local Government on the 6th of June 1969. He attended Dandinmahe Jamaatul Nasarul Islam primary school from 1971 1977, before later Proceeded to Government Teachers College Dogondaji in Sokoto State, where he obtained his first Secondary School leaving Certificate.
Abubakar A. Danmafara with his O level certificates, he joined the Sokoto State School of Health Technology to qualify as Medical Laboratory Assistant in 1986.
BSc Microbiology from the Usaman Danfodio University Sokoto. The programme which completed successfully in 2003. Danmafara is a Research oriented development and community engagement expert with a Masters Degree in Public Health (MPH) and specialty in epidemiology as well as sustainable disease control strategy/surveillance. A masters of public health which he obtained from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria
. Abubakar A. Danmafara in his bid to pursue education, went ahead to study his second Masters degree in zoology with specialty in parasitology and M.Phil in biology which he completed successfully in 2005 and 2018 respectively. Both MSc and M.Phil research were on malaria. He is currently running a Phd programme with the Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto
In the area of working experience Abubakar A. Danmafara posses extensive experience providing programmatic services that reduced Malaria in communities, HIV project development, Tuberculosis, outbreak investigation, public health surveys, surveillance, Teaching and Mentoring and polio campaigns. He obtained Associate certificates in Medical Laboratory and a Fellow of the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria from the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Apart from his primary responsibility as a medical laboratory scientist and Epidemiologist, he is experienced in working with partners and Community Based Organizations (CSOs) in the area of grant disbursement, medical outreach, Data Quality Assessment (DQA) and community based interventions.
