Dr. Muhammad Ali Inname
Dr Muhammad Ali Inname was born at Inname in Binji Local Government Area of Sokoto State on July 17th 1972. He received his primary education from Dem Falata Primary School Khartoum, Republic of Sudan between 1979 and 1985. From 1989 to 1991 Dr. Inname attended Government Science Secondary school Farfaru where he obtained his Senior Secondary Certificate.
The need to acquire advanced educational and professional qualification inspired Dr. Inname to enrol into Usumanu Danfodio University Sokoto in 1994 where he bagged a bachelor’s degree in medicine and Surgery (MBBS) In 2001. This qualified him as medical Doctor (Pharmacologist).
In the year 2002, Dr. Muhammad Inname answered the clarion call for the one year Compulsory national youth service (NYSC) in Taraba State. He was deployed to Cottage Hospital Sunkani. He also attended a professional primary fellowship examination in Psychiatry conducted by the National Postgraduate Medical Council of Nigeria.
During his study period, young Dr. Inname received, Professor T. Lambo’s Award for the best Graduating students both in learning and in character. The young talented, dedicated and well behaved Muhammad Ali Inname started his working career at the Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital Sokoto (UDUTH) on “internship” between March 2001 and June 2002. Thereafter the young psychiatrist served as a medical officer at the Specialist Hospital Sokoto from September 2003 to March 2004.
Between March 2004 and September 2005 Dr. Inname was at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Kware, Sokoto where he served as registrar. Dr. Inname also served as Medical Officer (Outreach) at the Medicine Sans Frontiers Sokoto Therapeutic/Feeding Malaria Project for 4 Months in 2005.
In November 2005 Dr. Inname went to classrooms to impact what he treasured most to others at the Department of Pharmacology Usman Danfodio University Sokoto State, where he served as Lecturer II until July 2007 when the Executive Governor of Sokoto State Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko appointed him as Special Adviser on Ecological and Relief Matters, where he served for one year and then reappointed to the same post and redeployed to the department of scholarship and Students Matters, Information Communication and Technology ICT.
After the 2015 General Elections Dr. Inname was appointed as Special Adviser on the newly established Agency Sokoto State Contributory Health Care Management Agency SOCHEMA by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the position he was holding until he was appointed as Honorable commissioner of Health the position which he is occupying to date.
In April 2018, His Royal Highness Sarkin Yanki Binji decorated Dr. Muhammad Ali Inname with the traditional title of Mutawallen Binji.
On his personal skills and competence, he has been involved in various tasks including Students Union Leader in the university to an outreach team leader of Sokoto Therapeutic Feeding/Malaria Project. He also served as a member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA). Dr. Inname also served as the Chairman, Steering Committee of HIV/AIDS Community Resource Centre, which is founded by a Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) and Ireland Aid.
In his effort to contribute what he learned to humanity, the young pharmacologist served as the Chairman of Friends of the Federal Neuro- Psychiatric Hospital, a charity organization that provided free medical care and rehabilitation of the Assistant Secretary General, Nigerian Medical Association Sokoto State from July 2004 to date.
A program director at a health and gender initiative, an NGO that assists in humanitarian services on health and gender issues.
Dr. Inname also served as a Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigeria Medical Association from July 2003 to July 2004.
Dr Inname has traveled to many countries in the world including Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Egypt, Senegal and Niger Republic.
He speak English, Hausa and Arabic fluently.
He is happily married with many children, enjoys reading and travelling.
